Our company is iMax Protective Eyeware Pty Ltd. The company has been designing and manufacturing protective eyewear for squash players for the last 20 years. (www.imask.com.au) Made in Tasmania, sold to the world.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak, we have had many inquiries about adapting that proven design to be more suitable for use in the healthcare field. We have worked along with doctors in Hobart to develop this design of the iMask+ Face Shield.
Designed to offer full face protection while allowing for the wearing of most face masks and other PPE.
The visor extends from above the top of the headband to below the chin.
It features a removable 1mm polycarbonate visor, headband, replaceable sweatpad and dual elastic strap for a comfortable fit. The gap between the headband (brow) and the top of the visor allows a flow of air to help minimise fogging.
The components of the iMask+ Face Shield are designed to be used as many times as deemed appropriate for the given usage. It is not designed as a single-use, disposable item.
The unit is easily assembled and disassembled for cleaning and disinfecting.
Each part is available as replacements.
Listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods.

Meets Australian Standards AS/NZ 1337.1:2010
The aim of this Standard is to assist in the provision of safe, efficient and comfortable vision in the occupational situation, including consideration of the need for protection against sunglare and optical radiation in the natural environment.
AS/NZS 1337.1:2010 specifies minimum requirements for non-prescription eye and face protectors and associated oculars. They are designed to provide protection for the eyes and faces of persons against common occupational hazards such as flying particles and fragments, dusts and harmful aerosols among other things.
The iMask Plus Face shield has met requirements for optical qualities and medium, impact resistance.
iMask+ Face Shields delivered to facilities should be considered as being non-sterile.
The iMask+ Face Shield product is suitable for multiple uses with appropriate cleaning between patients.
Face shields are generally not used alone, but in conjunction with other protective equipment and are therefore classified as adjunctive personal protective equipment. Guidelines for their use vary between governmental agencies and professional societies and little research is available regarding their efficacy.
Therefore, it is imperative that each hospital should determine appropriate use / reuse protocols based on a review of the product by the hospital's Infection Control group.
We recommend each person to have a personalised iMask+ Face Shield. Some may even wish to have extras so that previous ones have time to be sanitised ready for use the next day.

To ensure the shield is cleaned properly, we recommend disassembling it first.

2) Fit one end of the visor over the button fasteners. Bend it to make it fit over the caps at the other end.
3) Fit the Strap at one end first and then fit the other end. Lock the strap ends between the headband and visor.
Once fully assembled, adjust the elastic straps to fit comfortably.

A properly adjusted unit—not too loose and not too tight— enhances the stability and the performance of your i-MASK+ Face Shield.
The iMask+ Face Shield is available in a range of colours to suit your needs.
Many hospitals have various identifiers for different departments. Choose different coloured headbands to make that much easier, while providing the needed protection for personnel.
